Local Area Water Alert

The local area is under a boil water alert, this alert is expected to last until next week.
During this water alert the following precautions must be followed:

•

Do not drink tap water.

•

Do not use ice made from recent tap water. When alert is lifted, run two cycles of ice,
discard the two cycles before using ice from the machine.

•

Do not use tap water to make drinks, juices, or fountain soft drinks.

•

Cook with tap water only if food is boiled for at least one minute.

•

Brush your teeth with boiled or bottled water.

•

Wash your hands and bathe as usual. Bathing is safe as long as no water is swallowed.

•

Wash laundry as usual. Lau ndry washed in hot or cold water is safe.

•

Do not use tap water in microwaves for cooking or preparing water for drinking.

The food service department will prepare meals and follow sanitation procedures outlined
by the alert to include boiling all water used in the kitchen. Styrofoam trays will be utilized
until further notice . The faci lity will provide bottled water to the inmate population, a one
gallon container of water pe r occupied cell or per bunk (top and bottom) in Q unit daily.
An empty gallon container must be exchanged for a ful l container.
Please note the water alert is a precautionary measure due to the drop in water pressure
on Thursday, April 9 2015; once we are notified by the local water association we will
return to normal operations.
